Hope is a challenge for many these days, and there are a lot of reasons why hope is hard to come by. The relentlessness of the pandemic is certainly having its way, but so is government apathy towards the climate crisis.
When you are living in a developing country, you are seeing the impact of the pandemic through very different eyes. I am watching people getting back to work, being vaccinated, getting on with their lives, but when your neighbors are starving, it’s very challenging to even relate to this mindset.
It was my lovely husband’s birthday yesterday, April 16th! For his 50th birthday last year, we were in lockdown and he got a Zoom party. So this year, I was determined to celebrate his 50+1 birthday, but after a recent Covid19 outbreak, we had to postpone the celebrations again. Bummed!!
