After a long time reflecting on my future direction – a really long time – I am going through the process of updating my website. It’s not finished yet, but I am getting there, so will let you know when it’s done if you’re interested.
Anyhoo it’s been so interesting finding some of the content, and my 20 tips to build your Social Leadership presence stood out as worth updating for present day. You can see it below.
What I found noteworthy is that the core message has never changed, and as time has moved on, the challenges I’ve always highlighted remain the same, with AI making it all 100 per cent worse!
The social media platforms have been creaking with nonsense for years, but today, there is even more noise, more nonsense and more overwhelm. AI adds a new dimension of Blah!!
So why bother huh?
Well, I believe we need to bother very VERY much, because we need your voice – your true, authentic, real voice. If we all step away (which many are doing), the global narrative continues to be owned by those who do not represent us, and that is very much where we are right now.
I know it’s challenging to put yourself in the mix, because this group pushing us all towards a terrible dystopia have horrible people in their mix (trolls), as well as Botts. They are attacking, threatening, shaming, sexualising, gaslighting, and on it goes. It’s ugly out there, BUT that doesn’t mean we can allow them to silence us – regardless of how ugly it is.
The truth of the matter is, right now, the global narrative is owned and supported by 30% of the population, but for the rest of us – the 70%, the dominant group – we have an opportunity to stop it in its tracks, because we have the power in our numbers, we just need to claim it.
The rules are simple. We don’t play their game. We don’t let them make us hateful and spiteful. We don’t let them silence us. We don’t let them hijack our social media platforms. We don’t let them win.
So, to all the great people in the world – get involved, be a voice for our collective future, because honestly, we need you. Don’t do it for likes, comments or shares (aka ego), do it with a deep intention to drive change in our world, or to make the world a better, more loving place.
That is the challenge we are all being presented with today. Do we give in? Or do we fight?
One of the best ways to fight is to be a voice in the fight – a strong, courageous, ambitious, kind, loving voice. Will you join me?
