Andrea T Edwards

Social Leadership Training

“For successful social leadership: do less, and be awesome every time you show up.”

The heart of Social Leadership, and our mission, is to help your employees own their voices on digital platforms and in person, with integrity, a passion to serve, and a giving mindset central to their presence.

Real Social Leadership is transformative, both personally and as the cornerstone of business transformation today, because change happens through the voices of your employees.

Social Leadership is not about doing social because you must. It’s not about meaningless updates or a polished LinkedIn profile. Presence matters, yes, but the core rule is simple: never add to the noise. Show up only to deliver real value to your audience.

We are living in a fractured world. Societal division is at breaking point, and trust is a massive issue for all businesses, governments, the media and non-governmental organisations (NGOs), not to mention, artificial intelligence is going to transform and fundamentally shift all our professional lives.

Are you ready for that? The first step is making Social Leadership your personal priority. Advocate for yourself, because no one else can do it for you.

Training, coaching and mentoring

This training, coaching, and mentoring program dives deep into navigating social media amid the ‘rage economy,’ AI disruption, algorithmic biases, mis-/dis-information, and information overload.

The goal? To confront these challenges head-on, as well as inspire attendees to embrace their voice in alignment with their company’s values, becoming ambassadors for themselves and their organizations.

When you own your voice, you own your future. Not to mention, in this era of the polycrisis, we need thoughtful, big-picture thinkers contributing to the conversation. Silence isn’t an option in the face of the challenges we face.

While many step back from social media, now is the time to step in. Otherwise, the narrative will continue to be hijacked by the negative voices dominating all social media platforms today.

Focus: LinkedIn is our primary platform, but the principles apply everywhere. What you share varies by channel and style, however, the intent behind why you are participating is always the same. You are there to serve your audience and help them.

This isn’t about ego. It’s about serving your audience and participating with deep integrity, a passion to serve, and a giving mindset at the heart of your presence. If you’ve avoided social media because of its toxicity, this approach will resonate.

Program structure

We offer one-month or three-month programs. For best results, we recommend three months to build habits and confidence.

1. Kick-off Workshop: full-day or half-day training with discussions, reflections, and profile optimization. Ideal group size: 5–10 (up to 20 only with a full day)

2. 1:1 Sessions: held the week immediately after the workshop to set goals and address obstacles (in-person or online)

3. Three-Month Option: two additional 1:1 sessions to track progress and sustain momentum (mostly online)

Why three months?

Social Leadership is a mindset shift. While a few leap in immediately, most need time to overcome resistance. The reasons why people resist are as unique as everyone in the room, which varies by personality, culture, and even gender. You must approach this as you would professional coaching: lasting change takes commitment.

Andrea’s 1:1 sessions are a powerful opportunity to more deeply embed the importance of why and how you show up as a Social Leader, as well as where to get started, and how to keep going.

These sessions are in partnership with a deeply experienced and empathetic Social Leadership professional who will guide you, in a way that makes you completely comfortable and addresses all concerns you have.

Andrea loves to help people embrace their voice, but she also appreciates that for many people, this is not an easy process, as the “demons in our mind” constantly second guess us.

Social Leadership isn’t about adding tasks to your workload. It’s about integrating value-sharing into your daily work, aligned with your mission to drive change.

Deeper Perspective

This program explores the philosophy of Social Leadership in a fractured world, and we recommend you attend with an open mind.

You’ll learn

✅ The challenges of social media and how to rise above them

✅ The pillars of world-class Social Leadership

✅ Why trust is non-negotiable

✅ Dos and don’ts for impactful participation

✅ How to use AI wisely

✅ Standing out in the noise

✅ Crafting clear digital messaging

It’s also about claiming your leadership role, online and off. Business needs profit, but also social prosperity. Leaders must engage with both.

Success starts at the top

Unlike trickledown economics, this does trickledown and drive change. However, without leadership buy-in, it is rare to succeed in building a Social Leadership culture.

Therefore, to succeed, it must always begin with executives. When leaders model participation with authenticity (#SocialCEO), it cascades through the organization, building trust with employees, customers, and partners.

Yet most leaders still outsource their voices or treat social media as a megaphone, not a conversation.

The Data

Today, 70% of Fortune 100 CEOs have social accounts, but only 35% post monthly (H/Advisors Abernathy).

The article goes onto say: In an era where visibility, authenticity, and trust are critical to effective leadership and rising through the C-suite, mastering social media is no longer a nice-to-have; it’s a competitive advantage for those vying for top corporate and board roles.

Suffice to say, the words are right, but the actions are not backing it up, and this is 20 years after social media became a part of our lives.

According to FTI Consulting, 92% of professionals trust companies more when executives are active on social media. Summarizing the benefits, it empowers leaders to:
  • Humanize Leadership: people connect with people, not logos
  • Build Authority: attract talent, partnerships, and opportunities
  • Manage Crises: address issues directly and credibly
  • Inspire Talent: employees research leaders as much as companies

Dan Roth, the editor-in-chief of LinkedIn, told Fortune, “There’s a call for more authenticity and transparency, and people now expect to hear directly from their leaders to understand their perspective.”

The world is digital. Younger generations expect leaders to show up authentically. Your future success hinges on it.

The tangible business value of Social Leadership

When companies empower employees through Social Leadership, the benefits cascade across employee engagement, sales pipelines, financial performance, and employee satisfaction.

Proven impact

Take the team at IBM, who I worked with over five years. They credit $140 million in pipeline growth and 66% year-over-year increase in customer wins tied to employee advocacy after embracing a Social Leadership culture.
BNP Paribas Securities Services credited Social Leadership with boosting engagement and sales performance in their institutional banking division.

Employee impact

  1. Companies with Social Leadership cultures see over 300% higher engagement
  2. Employees generate 30% of all engagement with company content and are 14 times more likely to share it than other content types
  3. Employee-shared content drives twice as many click-throughs as branded posts

Former Chief Brand Officer, IBM Asia Pacific

I’ve had the pleasure of working with Andrea for so many years now, and in those many years, I’ve seen her bring to life nascent ideas on content, social advocacy and personal branding for so many like me, time and time again. Personally, I was struggling. I knew it was critical to the future of all businesses, but I also knew there would be a lot of resistance simply because, creating a social first organization is really about driving cultural change across the business at all levels. Andrea helped me think through the challenges and formulate a plan of action. She even went head-to-head turning naysayers – and there were many – into real advocates. So, to the people and organizations that are finding it difficult to meaningfully realize the power of social advocacy, she’s a truly wonderful partner. She is not only patient – and she had to be very patient with me – and tremendously hard working, but most importantly, she truly cares about helping people find their authentic voice, which is what’s at the crux of this. Be it CEOs, first-line managers or those starting out, she gave them equal time. So, I’d say from thought leadership to strategy, all the way through to meaningful execution and driving results, she really is nothing short of the real deal.

Why it works

Social Leadership isn’t just about posts. It’s about:

  • Humanizing brands through employee voices that build trust
  • Amplifying reach as organic sharing outperforms paid campaigns
  • Driving revenue by shortening the sales cycles with authentic voices

Top five benefits of Social Leadership — employee feedback

  1. Expanded global networks, unlocking opportunities
  2. Clients engaging with employee-shared content
  3. Greater self-confidence and career ownership
  4. Belief in strategic social selling
  5. Increased internal visibility and career growth

The pushback we hear…

• “We’ve heard this before.”
• “What if employees leave after training?”
• “What if they stay but stay silent?”
Answer: Social Leadership builds loyalty. Employees gain confidence, visibility, and opportunities – futureproofing them (and your business) in an AI-driven world.

Public Workshops

We rarely do public workshops, as our focus is on large-scale business transformation. This is frequently achieved through working with thousands of employees across a large multinational company. However, we can tailor workshops for communities, especially groups committed to doing great work in the world. Reach out to discuss.

Our mission at The Digital Conversationalist is to empower, inspire and motivate professionals to harness social media to intelligently build dream careers, as well as to take advantage of the content marketing opportunities we all have today. We do this for both professionals and businesses. If you’d like to work with me, please get in touch!
